INNATO

Innato is a furniture design project that explores the relationship between functionality and aesthetics through natural materials and balanced proportions. The design prioritizes simplicity, durability, and adaptability, making it suitable for different interior spaces. Developed with a focus on timeless forms and high-quality craftsmanship.

CONCEPT & INSPIRATION

Drawing inspiration from fashion and current trends, this project explores the balance between high-quality materials and carefully structured forms, much like ALAÏA, where construction plays a key role without compromising elegance. It also embraces the Japanese wabi-sabi aesthetic, which finds beauty in imperfection and highlights natural textures and organic details, an approach reflected in spaces like The Row’s boutique in Paris.

At the same time, it takes cues from contemporary Mexican architecture, where raw materials take center stage, echoing a similar approach in fashion, where fluidity and precision coexist. This project prioritizes craftsmanship, material, and a timeless design with subtle nods to modern trends

MATERIALS & SHAPES

For this project, materials have been chosen for their ability to reflect the simplicity of nature. Natural oak adds warmth and a sense of durability, while rattan and wicker add lightness and an organic texture. Exposed concrete, a strong presence in the aesthetic seen above, contrasts with the more organic materials. Linen is used for the textile parts, with an artisanal and light touch thanks to its open weave. Together, these materials create a subtle balance between rustic and modern, highlighting the best qualities of each.

COLLECTION

The collection is introduced by the RAIZ armchair, a piece designed with a main seat composed of panels and a structure secured with screws that support the armrests and legs. Entirely crafted from natural oak wood, it stands out for its solidity and warmth.

For added comfort, it can be paired with a customizable cushion, available in different fabrics to suit individual preferences: linen, which provides a rustic touch; wool twill, perfect for winter settings; and cotton, a lighter option ideal for summer. This level of personalization makes it an excellent choice for exclusive collections aimed at clients seeking bespoke design.

In the same vein, the RAMA chair shares the structural essence of the armchair but with a taller and slimmer design, making it suitable for a dining table or pairing with other pieces. Also made from natural oak wood, it preserves the cohesion of the collection.

Finally, the CORTEZA screen offers a modern take on the traditional design, inspired by Japanese shoji. Its oak frame is paired with wicker or rattan panels, accented by a thin red line that adds a subtle contrast. Designed to blend naturally into any space, it helps divide areas without fully isolating them. Its foldable structure also makes it easy to move and adjust as needed.
